Slow & Steady First Flights

If you have been lucky enough to have a new drone, our simple guide for safe and enjoyable flying is to follow these 5 basic points:

Tip #1 Read the manual and learn the system flying control modes Initially set the system up for a beginner and set all available fail-safe’s for the system. (Range limit, height limit, RTH)
Tip #2 Read the Drone Code and choose your flying site Select an open space – away from people, livestock, property and other aircraft. You can use apps such as Altitude Angel to assist with safe site selection. (App)
Tip #3 Fly with high GPS coverage That is until you are competent with non GPS modes
Tip #4 Always hover for a few seconds  To check controls and control system are working correctly.
Tip #5 Monitor Battery Level, take your time and take small steps Always monitor battery level and ensure that you have power remaining to return and land safely.  Take your time in terms of complexity of manoeuvres, flying at range, flying at height and flying in more sporty modes; and always check the aircraft for damage and wear between flights.

From Our Experience – Pilot Error or poor maintenance will cause loss of control and the loss of your new system.
